Exmoor Beauty Ride

Did the Exmoor beauty yesterday for the first time, wet, torrential in fact miserable for much of the ride, thankfully the rain held off whilst climbing Dunkery Beacon though. Had a cracking last 20miles in though, averaging about 18mph.
Noticed a new phenomenon yesterday however. A number of cyclists came past me then cut straight in front of me, causing me to have to stop pedaling, it's not just me who noticed it either, several people commented.

First time I've done the new route as well ( did the original a few years ago ) and thought it was pretty good, even if the weather was far from ideal. Noticed a new phenomenon yesterday however. I was properly shivering on the run down from Dunkery to Wheddon when the heavens opened in a fairly biblical fashion - using the winter bike certainly paid dividends yesterday.
You're not wrong about the run back, it made a nice finish to the ride, especially when the sun finally made an appearance!
Have to say I didn't notice anyone slicing across my wheel, but there were certainly a few riders that were showing dubious bike handling skills on the descents.
Knew I'd spotted another PH'rs time on the Strava page!
Fair play getting around after a recent injury, although with that sort of injury I'm thinking it might have been easier cycling up Dunkery than walking!
That's about the 5th time I've been up that climb now, and it never seems to get any easier...
