Even if there was a "previous altercation" unless the cyclist had just tried to kill the driver I'd say the drivers actions were WAY OTT.

Driver looked like he knew what he was doing. Tap the back wheel, jam it up, cyclist will come off. Not saying he's right but attempted murder? Come on. If it was attempted murder he'd have done 60mph straight over him, reversed over him a couple of times and then done a bunk.

A PC stopped a car, and the driver switched off the engine. Suspicions were aroused and the driver started it. The PC put his arm into the car to try and switch the engine off. The driver wound the window up and trapped the PC's arm and then tried to wipe the PC off the side of the car - forgetting that his arm was trapped - on a lorry. The PC was injured and the car hit the rear wheels of the lorry, bouncing off and, it was felt, saving the life of the PC.

Crimed as att. murder but dropped to GBH. This was the 1970s so nowadays would be common assault I suppose.

I had a women drive at me. I jumped onto the footway but she mounted the kerd. I jumped over a wall, well clambered over it, it was 8' high, falling onto a bush the other side so breaking my fall.

Charged with reckless (as was) and fined £25. Disqual for 1 year.
