Brake disc question

Currently looking at changing the brake setup on one of the bikes, pretty set on some Shimano XTR M987's. Question then comes to brake discs, looking at a 180mm on the front, anyone know if this will be a straight fit or will there be spacers required with it being a size up from the 160mm.

Genuinely? you know you want to buy a £260 set of brakes but you don't know if you need spacers to change disc size?

Anyway, leaving that aside, yes you will need a different adaptor depending on whether you have post or is mounts.

i'd be going 203mm. much better, more progressive braking i have found.

Ah good call, can always rely on PH to up the stakes a bit.

Unless you have an XTR groupset and want to be pimpy, SLX brakes or even Deore brakes will give stonking power for a lot less Wonga.

The M987 are great brakes. Every bit as good as the previous race/trail model, but a little lighter.
I'm assuming XC riding as you are thinking of 160mm. I find them perfectly adequate and had no fade what so ever in the Alps.
