Pads for Carbon Rims?

AS title - what are you all using? need a set to take as spares to the alps in 3 weeks..
On Enve pads at the moment as thats what came with the wheels, but happy to listen to what you guys use!

I use Swiss Stop Black on my Zipp 808s and Mavic Exalith on my Cosmics. Both more than capable even in the wet. It's worth checking with the manufacturer what's recommended for warranty purposes.

^Exactly this, IIRC ENVE require the use of their own pads.

I find the SwissStop Black Prince to be excellent on Zipp and HED carbon wheels, and some generic Chinese ones I have on my commuter.

Looks like I will swap from using the yellow ones to the black prince too. Almost went into the back of someone yesterday when I pulled on the brakes in the rain and nothing happened...

I have used the Black Prince and the Reynolds blue ones. Not much in it but Black Prince squeak less although seem to wear quicker

I was never that impressed with the yellow pads, the Reynolds Blue were/are significantly better.

I find Swissstop yellow ace on aluminium rims, but not that hot on carbon rims.
Reynolds blue are supposed to be good.

I might be the odd one out here, but I prefer the modulation of the zipp cork pads. They might not provide the initial bite of the composite pads but it's a lot smoother braking in a bunch.

Looks like I'm stuck with enve pads for another 18 months! Oh well! Once the warranty period is up I'll be asking again no doubt!

Whilst we are on the subject of pads- I have a pair of HED Stinger 4's which I use Black Prince pads with- brake performance is excellent.

Same bike, same callipers, Flo30 rims with SwissStop greens - and I'd call the braking poor. no-where near the performance of my other bike with greens on Ambrosio Nemesis.

Ideas?

+1 the yellow ones are bloody useless. I've always blamed the rims, but will give black prince a go.

Just back from Mallorca, and was also using ENVE pads with 6.7s. Didnt feel I was "under" braked or had any issues (pad related anyhoos). I was using the Reynolds Blue pads and Aelous Carbons rims previously and subjectively the performance felt the same.

Out of interest, why do you want to change the ENVE pads?

Don't want to change as such - just get a spare set, and wanted to know if there was anything would offer an improvement!

Hmmmm very odd indeed, I've found the Swissstop Yellows to be excellent in the rain on my HED Carbon rims. Pretty darn good too in the dry, especially when I over cooked it coming down some swtichbacks in the Alps
