London to Southend

Was wondering if anyone from PH is going to be doing this?

Did it a couple of years back. Flattest ride you'll ever do - don't think I needed the inner ring at any point.

Not a sportive - you'll see people on all manner of bikes down to supermarket BSOs, so beware of some numpty bike handling. Quite inspirational all the "riding for Mum" stickers that people wear.

Nice route though, although the part from Battlesbridge - Southend is deceptively long and probably breezy. Look out for the Vulcan at Southend Airport.

I've been thinking of doing this since seeing your post... would be a good way of getting in some miles for the London 100. But given the forecast is for thunderstorms... I think I might just hold off and see what the weather's doing on Sunday!

I did London to Southend and back last year for a giggle. it's pretty much flat
