Not bad as an easy warm up for the Ronde Van Calderdale.

On my list for next year. Steep I can handle, but cobbles just make them an order of magnitude tougher.

OP - good effort, it's quite a lot of ascent for a relatively short ride. Now go and do the Fred Whitton ;-)

I did the short route last year and the long route this, it's a tough one alright, the short route still does most of the mental cobbled climbs.

Ive only just got into this sportive carry on,did the etape caledonia,as it is local, and easy, which lulled me in to a false sense of security,so signed up for the pennines
In between I found another local event, The 3 Pistes,so thought I`ll have some of that, big mistake,105 miles of beautiful scenery and a fair measure of torture thrown in.
The biggest problem for me was cramp,I do regular 50,60,70, milers every weekend and average every other day between 15-20 miles which are done at fairly brisk pace .

I try to drink plenty, eat plenty but still suffer, changed to a higher cadence but seems to make little difference, 3 pistes suffered from perhaps 70 miles on and on sunday suffered from 45 miles to finish,
Anyone got any answers.
PS I`m A fat bd at 95kg but losing steadily

Try some tabs in your water bottle. The High 5 and Nuun ones are quite nice, although there are loads of others to choose from. They contain salts which can help prevent cramp.
