Is there a way to edit Strava data? I did a long ride on a single day which included a ferry crossing - despite me pausing Strava on entering the ferry it's included that element of the journey. I don't want to delete the ride as it's my longest to date and included some pretty big hills , but currently it's showing around 300km, which is just plain wrong.

I'd like to be able to delete a middle section of the ride, is this possible? If it's of any relevance, I'm just on the free version.

Cheers

You'll need to edit the track (.gpx etc) rather than the 'Strava data'. Pretty sure there'll be tools out there to do exactly what you want or instructions of how to manually edit the file. A quick google will give you the solution I'd imagine.

You can edit the ride on Strava itself. When you upload and go into your ride on the left handside there is two buttons (one is a spanner and cant remember what the other is) you'll be able to crop your ride that way by clicking on one of them to bring down a drop down menu and crop/edit ride should be in there.

1. Download the GPX from strava and save it.
2. Crop the second half of your ride + ferry out on Strava.
3. Complete a manual upload of the gpx you already downloaded.
4. Crop the first half of your ride + ferry out of the new file using Strava.

You can't have one ride with a gap (unfortunately), it has to be two separate files. This is a particular pain when doing uplift days on the mountain bike - I have loads of ascent that I really shouldn't have!

Send an email to the Strava through the support page. Give them the activity number and what you want cropping out and they should sort it for you.

It might take a couple of days to get a reply, but I've found them to be very helpful when I've made a cockup of some sort when recording rides.
