£1k to spend on HT 29er in the sales... help!

I need to update my trusty MY07 Hardrock 26er with a 29er.
Why?
Why not!

I am aiming to spend around £1k +/- £100.
No reason other than for the fact that I have re-specced my Hardrock with Deore everything and a recon silver front fork and to get a 29er with that as a minimum you appear to have to spend around £1k.

I mostly slog my way up and down the South Downs. Nothing technical and I mostly fall off when I go downhill fast so I tend to avoid that.

These all appear excellent value - any thoughts?
