Comfy seats?

Hi, has anyone a recommendation for a comfy seat for a commuter bike?

All the ones which claim to be comfy are ugly as anything. I'm looking for a compromise between looks and comfort if that exists?

I love my ISM Century X

Takes an age to set up and get used to but is lovely once you get the sweet spot

I used to get ball ache commuting every day, now my sit bones just ache a bit after 7+ days in the saddle

Generally, the more comfortable it looks, the less comfortable it will be.

For sub £20 Charge Spoon or Madison Flux (same but a wee bit more padding) are almost universally liked.

Make sure it is level, with a spirit level, perhaps angled down 1 or 2 deg only.

Alternately most people I know swear by Fiziks - everyone having a different preference.

I find the Antares to be perfect - but there's a bewildering variety. Find a local dealer near you and test a few saddles. The Charge Spoon gets a lot of good press as well and is a fraction of the price too.

What your ass prefers however is almost certainly different from mine - or from anyone else you'd randomly pick.

What I would echo though is that if it looks big and comfy then it probably isn't.

I like Sella Italia SLR, I have 3, but its very personal.

Whatever you do, don't get one of those gel covers. Utter rubbish.

Your bum will get used to something that seems "uncomfortable" at first. The only saddle I've not got on with has been the Selle Italia that came on my Cube Ltd Race, as it has sharp edges which leave bruises on my arse.
