bearing and tyre questions/ problem
Discussion
Two seperate bearing questions i need a bit of help with if anyone can. and a tyre question.
1. Ive got a Crossmax St wheelset on my orange. The front one has knackered bearings. Does anyone know the size or part number? Not wanting to press them out until i know i can def get replacements without a delay.
1.b The same wheel is fitted with specialized butcher tyre. After a slight crash the tyre came off the rim and let out loads of PSI. Now the tyre is loosing air which i assumed was because it needed more sealant. Ive added more sealant and now when submerged in water the tyre is leaking through the sidewall in a few places. Is it new tyre time? The scratches on the sidewalls were there way before my off.
2. My 2012 cannondale flash carbon has a carbon lefty xlr 100mm. I need to replace its headset bearings. Ive found the bearings online, but cant find anything that tells you how to remove the fork without a special tool? Anyone removed a lefty without problems, and re-installed?
Thanks

1. you should be able to unscrew the end caps on your front hub and just read the number off the side of the bearing.
2. Sounds like its new tyre time. you could stick a tube in there but it sounds like you have damaged the sidewall or bead, so could be risking catastrophic failure if you keep using it
3. no idea about the headshock, sorry

Sorry, can't help with bearing part numbers but I know you can get Mavic bearing kits on Ebay from a company called q:bikes. A mate recently bought some for his SX's.
The Purgatory might be salvageable if the holes are tiny as the sealant will seal them eventually. I've had really porous non-UST tyres leak for a few days until the sealant had done its job.
If some of the holes are too big, and there's not too many of them, you could always try tubeless patches.
