Garmin 510 broken USB functionality

It works fine when out recording and GPSing but the USB interface is borked so that I cannot transfer data or charge it. It worked yesterday but not today. I've tried different computers, ports and cables.

Garmin are replacing the unit as it is less than 12 months old but the replacement unit will only have 90days warranty with it.

The worst thing is of course that I have become conditioned into needing to see my cadence, HR, speed, heading, time elapsed, average speed etc. when riding along that I will be lost for the 10 days or so when the old unit has been sent away and the new one has yet to be delivered.

Surely the solution to this problem is like all bike related issues n+1

Get an 810 or a 1000, £500 quid for ten days cover seems pretty reasonable to me ;-)

Else get a forerunner - totally different device, all the same data.........

Did it get wet?

I don't see how Garmin can say that the replacement unit will have only 90 days warranty unless you have less than 90 days left on your original unit? Surely that is against UK law?
