Any pedal powered PHers riding this? Wearing team colours? I'm aiming for 29-30km/h if anybody is looking to form a PH peloton.

I'm doing the 80 mile route. Looking forward to it despite not getting as many miles in since Xmas as I would've liked.

I haven't got a PH shirt but, having seen the forecast, whatever I'll be wearing will be windproof!

20km/h winds and an exposed course. Crikey. Teamwork essential, I reckon.

At least it's a tailwind for the final 20km.

Hopefully there will be plenty of people aware of Rule #67... wink

I've only done a couple of sportives before but I've noticed a distinct lack of respect for rule #67. Throw some proper manly wind into the equation and I can't imagine that'll improve. I'm certainly up for a team effort if anybody else runs at a similar pace?

Ah - didnt know that was on this weekend. I'll need to factor it in to my weekend riding plans as this is my neck of the woods and I did about 50% of the 41 mile route last week and was planning on doing it again.

Good luck all!

FYI - we don't really do hills around here, so even with the winds, it should be easy going.

But with hills although you work getting up them you get a few minutes rest going down the other side. If you stop pedalling when on the flat you end up slowing down/stopping. I'd always prefer to take on a climb compared to a flat landscape where it's windy!

The sun always shines on the righteous!

Tried to get an entry when this was first mentioned on the TdePH thread but it was already sold out. My sportive debut will have to wait until the Cobbler on 22 Mar.

Good ride everyone.

Looking good for this one, should be fun!

I'm staying at the Travelodge in Whyboston and they sent this warning in regards to the A1 and A412 on Friday night / Saturday morning. Might impact those heading from the south to the event:

"“On 16th February 2015 to F21st February 2015 from 9.00pm to 6.00am night time only, the A421 Northbound will be completely closed to facilitate the carrying our of surfacing and civil works from new to existing carriageway. The diversion from the northbound and A421 closure, the A1 will be closed from Blunham to Wyboston with the diversion route leaving Blunham along Barford Road and rejoicing at Wyboston. The A421 will be closed from Cardington Junction with traffic being diverted sown the A603 to Sandy roundabout turning left for A1 North and picking up the northbound diversion. There will inevitably be some noise, congestion and inconvenience generated by the works and for this we apologise in advance. "

Looks like 5th place of those that have uploaded to Strava. I'll take that, with that wind, on my heavy knackered Triban. That's its last ride as the Aeroad arrives next week lick
