Just read about this spray on reflective paint from Volvo aimed at cyclists

Apparently its only available from 6 shops so far - i am quite tempted to pick a can up. Assuming it doesn't stink to high heaven or mess up my brakes, gears or chain it could be fantastic.
Rather ironic that a car manufacturer rather than a bike company has taken the trouble to invent this stuff...
Anyone else tempted? Volvo's timing isn't ideal what with the clocks just going forward but i should be able to get some use out of it.

They were giving it away and yesterday I managed to get the last one from the nearest place to my office. I read that there were 2,000 cans of it so I doubt there’ll be many left now.
I can see something like this being useful on overnight events in the summer where you want to stand out but don’t have suitable high vis or reflective clothing for the temperature. It’s water based so might not last long on a bike through winter, the bikes (but not the clothing) in the video were covered in a more permanent paint that you wouldn’t want to be spraying all over stuff that’s in contact with your skin.
A mate has tried ACF 50 on his winter bike. Apparently you apply it to the whole bike and the grime just hoses off. I’m tempted to try to combine the Life Paint or similar with that at the end of the summer to make life easier over winter and maybe with the added benefit of a few areas of the bike being reflective, providing the two liquids don’t interfere with each other.

I really, really, really want to buy some of the permanent paint. Sadly, not only are all of the retailers selling it 200+ miles away, they're all clearly beard shops and don't do mail order or owt. Hell, 3 of them seem more cafes than bike shops.
IMO if it does what it says on the vid, this reflective paint is the best thing to happen to cycling for years. Not only could I get my bike to be more visible at night, but the opportunity to be creative is huge. I'm thinking clever masking on spokes to get twirly patterns, enhancing the frame with funkyness etc - all whilst improving safety.
Mind, I might be their target market. If I'm on a night ride, I often run with 4 rear lights and 3 up front...

I heard of this stuff just the other day, just not by Volvo. A little Googling tells me Volvo's is rebranded paint made by a company called Albedo100. Volvo didn't invent it, they've just got a bigger marketing department.
There are also permanent versions (Volvo's is the wash-out).
