MTB races - who's doing what?
Discussion
What MTB races do we all have planned???
After a 3 year hiatus, I've got my first race coming up in a couple of weeks. Whilst the flagship is a 100km marathon, I'm doing the 68km route. Having completed a handful of 100-110km races in the past I just don't the time to train for the 100km events any more, but I'm really looking forward to having a bash at this one. Also looking forward to the unique kayak bridge crossing...

Course profile - first big climb is 170m in 2km, then on for another 115m in the next 4km. Last big descent is 200m in 3km

Just a few:
Gorrick Kawasaki 100, (7 laps)
Couple of 24 hour solo races (mayhem and bontrager)
Couple of 12 hour solo races (torq in your sleep and erlestoke)
8 hour solo singlespeed race (Oktoberfest)
6 hour solo (brighton big dog)
3 hour fatbike (summer monkey and three rounds of brass monkeys)
Should keep me out of mischief, just need to keep getting plenty of time out on the bikes.

Three races this year, plus one other big ride. I'm not a fast rider at all but I am pretty stubborn so try not to be beaten by them.
Cairngorms Loop - 2nd May, 185 miles offroad
Highland Trail Race - 23rd May, 560 miles offroad
Capital Trail - 13th June, 147 miles offroad
Ride to the Sun - 20th June, 100 miles road, overnight from Carlisle to Edinburgh, ridden at a social pace I hope...
I've done all three MTB routes before, so this time my focus is on trying to find some speed from somewhere if possible, and riding longer into the night to drop some time off.

And I'll be sporting my Pistonheads Jersey
Ah yes, still haven't got one of these - on the list!
Forgot to mention - the race I'm doing in a couple of weeks, one of the sponsors is a local craft brewery - everyone gets a bottle of beer as they cross the line. MTB racing, Aussie style
