freewheel to freehub/cassette conversion

My bike has a 7 speed freewheel.
Twice now I have had a sheared rear axle. Both times after about a year of daily use. Its just a basic decathlon rear wheel

I read somewhere that freehubs suffer less from this issue due to their inherent better design?

Anyone know if doing this conversion is simple enough.
Is this a case of buying a new rear wheel with a freehub and buying a cassette?

Just fixed another one here too. (new axle & qr) a paperboy's 18m old Carrera.
