Help me Pimp my Pashley...?
Discussion
Hey!
A couple of years ago I bought a rather splendid double top tube Pashley Roadster Sovereign.
I was living in the centre of town and it was perfect for wafting from place to place whilst looking like a complete posh tool.
Now that I've moved out to somewhere rural, it's been sat in my shed for 18 months because I find it unusable - let's face it, the gears and (especially the) drum brakes are TERRIBLE.
So - at the risk of being all West Coast Customs - is there anything I can do to pimp my ride? I'd like to keep the frame and the ridiculous Jules Vernian Brooks leather saddle - but perhaps build a road wheel around some better hub gears and add rim brakes?
(Don't suppose an Alfine hub would be possible? I had a charge mixer and loved it!)
Thanks!
Ps: please don't suggest I sell it and buy another bike.
