Assos, Rapha, A.N.Other? New bibs required.

Looking for an additional pair of 'good' shorts, had tried Sportful Total Comfort but wasn't massively impressed, thankfully the stitching came loose so it was an excuse to return them 
Current best shorts are Assos S5 Mille, mostly impressed but I don't think they are the Holy Grail for me just yet.
Options are Assos S7, Rapha Classics or possibly Etexondo Feather.
Interested to hear opinions on the above or other options, looking for shorts that will be comfortable for 3+ hours.

FWIW I like the kiss3 pad in Castelli shorts but then the Cuore ones I recommended are still going strong! A lot of it is about the shorts/seat/arse cream combo. I tried the Elite cream and it was awful, went back to the Chapeau stuff and it was like wearing new shorts.
I've always wanted to try the Shutt stuff but the logo looks like "s
tt" and that just puts me off!

Going to give Rapha a go, I've got a 10% voucher to use so may as well take advantage.

I had a pair of their cheapest bibs, the RRP was £60 but I paid £25 for them in a sale. Not sure if the quality has improved since but they were the worst shorts I've ever worn. Loose threads, cheap looking material and the pad was like a nappy. I wouldn't have kept them even if they were £10.tt" and that just puts me off!I also has trouble getting a refund when returning a jacket to them. Never again!
It's surely a very personal thing. The pad is important but so is the fit and cut, and the cut that suits me may not suit you.
FWIW, I get on very well with Castelli bibs. I've two pairs, one with the Progetto X2 pad and the other with the Kiss3. I've worn both for 6+ hour rides without any discomfort.
Despite Sportful being owned by the same parent company, I find my norain bib tights get painful after 3 hours.
But the most uncomfortable I have are the DHB Aeron. Yet others rate them so I can only assume they just don't suit my anatomy.

I also bought a pair of Aldi shorts recently for my 10 mile commute; aside from the tourniquet effect of the legs grippers the pad is impressively comfortable for a short ride!
Assos S2 and S5 shorts, I have a pair of the latest S7's and they are good but not as good as the S2's - which are 2 generations older!
Can't comment on Rapha as I don't have and of their Bib's, but friends who wear them would sell their kid's to fund another pair, personally I would want to try them before I was convinced and recommended them.
Have had several pairs of Castelli's in the past, always comfortable (but not as comfy as Assos), but never lasted more than about 18 months before they started to fall apart - but that seems to go for everything they produce, Castelli hats, mitts, jerseys and bib's have never lasted, that said their 'head thingy' is a few years old and is still fine!
My favorite, most comfortable, and best fitting bib's are x-Bionic's. I have a pair of 'the trick' bib's and a matching jersey, they fit really well, you are never too hot or cold in them, and they are very close fitting (which I like), the pad is minimal but well cut and offers just the right amount of cushioning without making you man bits go numb - not cheap but I would wear them shopping, walking the dog, to bed, in the bath (you get the idea) if I could.....

Hi, sorry to thread hijack but does anyone know what model Santani bibs are most similar to the team Belkin ones?
I got 3 pairs of the Santani Belkin bibs for £15 each, they are bloody brilliant and really rate them for 5 x the price let alone £15. But as they were on special offer and no more left, I want to buy some more bibs that ones that are the same model. Does anyone know what model Santani use before they are branded belkin or other teams:
