Getting into this cycling and needing some info/advice

Afternoon,
Recently purchased this Specialized Allez, 56cm road bike, for the grand price of £130,
Bit of a frivolous purchase if I'm honest, but it fits me well I'm around 6ft2.
I've not travelled the vast amounts of miles some of you guys do but I'm working on it daily, in the last 8 weeks or so my biggest ride out was around 20miles, I don't think that's too bad for someone who has done zero fitness in any form since leaving school many moons ago.
So the bike, I have no idea of age or type of model but I do know its light and very nimble and comfortable to ride (That might be down to the comfy padded shorts I wear.
I have changed the tyres for some Vittoria Zaffiro tyres in red to keep red the theme going on the bike, and renewed the inner tubes with vittoria inner tubes.
It is a 9 speed with Shimano Tiagra gearset which is pretty good, not sure if it is the best but I'm sure you guys can advise otherwise, I did have an issue a few weekends back where the derailleurs needed resetting as the bottom one came loose and entered the wheel at speed, no damage thankfully.
One thing I would like to change is the gear levers as they have a lot of damage on them as the previous owners stored the bike upside down !!!! but I suspect he had more offs then he cared to let on, so the levers are not looking their best,
Does anyone know of a decent place to have these replaced or somewhere I could purchase them and fit myself ?
It has a Ritchey stem and handlebar set up on the bike, would this have been a set up from new ? The previous owner mentioned it was but I am not convinced,
So that's my new to me bike and looking forward to hearing any advice/info you guys have for me.
Is there a website where I can look up the serial number on the bike to find out its age ?

No help on its history but it looks like a good solid bike for the money. Personally, I would change the sit up and beg hi-rise bar stem and get the brake lever hoods more horizontal, but, if you find it comfortable as it is then keep it like that :-)
I am guilty of turning the stem upwards found it a bit more comfortable, maybe im just not fit enough to lay down so low just yet, but I have moved the bars so the hoods are lower. I'd hazard a guess at around 2003/4 from the image shown but it is just a guess going by the components and frame design.
Specialized used to use lots of Ritchey kit on their bikes around that time, bars,stems seat posts etc.
Any LBS would be able to renew the levers for you providing they can still get hold of some 9 speed items, i'd recommend new cables too. re cabling and gear adjustments can be a time consuming process if you don't know exactly what you're doing.

Compare the spec above to what you've got and see what has happened over the last 15years.
Stem looks like its off a hybrid but if it fits ride it.

The graphics are very similar to my 2001 Allez, for the money you did well, its in good condition. I like mine, the frame is stiff and rides well.
Flip the stem and see how it fits. To do that you will need to unscrew teh two bolts on the side and the one on top of the forks. you will also need to take out the bars and reposition them but thats just the four bolts at the front. Park Tool website has loads of good videos for this sort of thing.
