What a godawful piece of crap.

I hate these Apollo bikes with their fking useless suspension that does nothing apart from sap pedalling power, add huge amounts of weight and deliver a shockingly bad ride - all for additional cost. Eventually the forks will seize completely rendering it nothing more than an ornament.

But I have a strange mixture of pity and contempt for the fools that buy them. One of them was my neighbour who argued that he needed full suspension on his Apollo bike to ride to work along the footpath.
His argument was largely based around the fact that my bike (170mm travel All Mountain YT) had suspension so why not his?

I suggested that my riding was somewhat different from his - and that if he tried to ride his bike where I ride mine it would snap and seriously injure him on the first big drop.

He had it nicked. I showed him a decent 2nd hand hartail to buy from Pinkbike.

He bought another Apollo POS from Halfords. Idiot.

To be fair, in the video did admit that it has the ride characteristics of a sponge. At least he's honest about that.

To be fair its Halfords channel so he isnt going to tear it to pieces, £159 though, minus VAT, minus shipping/distribution, minus..... ugh!

One of the guys I run a car for wanted a bike to ride round the pits at LeMans last week, I'd already donated my Specialized hybrid as team bike, but wasnt going to hand over another.
He suggested something cheap and ended up with an Apollo hybrid thing. I collected it and assembled the bike (cost more for me to put it together than it cost in reality!)
What a turd. The first 5 or 6 times pulling away 50% of the effort was lost as the cassette tightend itself. It spun so much I was worried it may have stripped the thread! No matter how tight you did the seat clamp the seat rotated and the front derailleur flexes so badly its hardly worth having stops on it.Quite incredibly it stayed together, the plastic levers didnt snap nor the awful twist grips fall off. However I made sure that I didnt have the misfortune of riding it, ensuring my Spec was always on hand!

How have they managed to mate SRAM shifters with Shimano mechs? I didn't think that was possible?

Did you also notice that when he shifts, the entire assembly moves a bit, showing its not properly tightened?
