Bike out of storage

Hi Guys

just pulled my bike out the parents garage, not been used in a long time, and its nothing special its a Carrera Fury from the low-mid 2000's with a Manitou six fork.
Give it a bit of a clean and a quick spin it feels very loose at the front, there is no play in the bearings but the fork itself seems to have wobble in it where the stanction tubes slip in.

Any recommendations?

I'll have a look, I resent putting money into a 10 year old bike really but I suppose its cheaper than buying a whole new bike.

I've just sent the forks on my 12 year old bike off for service and repair.

Contrarily, I'd resent spending the money if it was a newer bike. But amortised over the next 12 years the repair cost seems much less.

or if its for road fitness training, fit a solid fork and slim slick tyres.

That is pretty much how its going to be used, plan is see if I keep up the effort and then get a road bike

about to head off on holiday so I'll put up with it for now, cant believe the price of a rigid front fork! Think I'll pop down to a local cycle shop on my return

as above get some slick tyres on, sold fork and sorted no nonsense bike

I'tll give you a taste of road riding and you wont be that much if at all slower than a full road bike, when starting out.
