Road chainrings

A fairly simple one, if I buy a SRAM Force chainset with 50/34 chainrings I understand it's pretty easy to swap them for 52/36 (same BCD and so on) but I'm struggling to find which rings I can buy and fit.

Shimano stuff is readily available in 52/36 but SRAM seems to be either compact or 53/39 so I think the only option is to buy the rings separately if I want a proper BB30 chainset that matches the rest of the group (and comes in a cheap bundle, I know I can pay a ton for a Cannondale, FSA or Rotor one on its own).

I don't think I want Q Rings either, just round ones would be lovely.

Stronglight sounds like an awful made-up Chinese knock-off brand, I've seen their chainsets on cheap bikes and always assumed they'd be overweight flexy rubbish. Are they actually OK?

Anywhere other than Sigma Sport sell the Praxis ones online?

Nah they're fine, lots of people use them!

Hmm, not sure actually, I did indeed buy mine from Praxis, I think power2max may well them on their website though? But Sigma are as cheap as anywhere else I think.

I tend to stick to the big online retailers (Wiggle, Ribble, CRC) as they're properly set up for VAT free export shipping. LBS here does Rotor, Q Rings and so on so maybe I'll have a chat with them. A colleague was quoted 230CHF for a pair or Q Rings (£150 ish) so maybe they have something similar which is round.

Wash your mouth out, they have been making stuff since 1906, although they are no longer the force they once was.

TA Specialities are worth a look too. I've built up a few bikes from odds and ends using some TA rings I was given.

I've got a TA 53T I'm taking off my bike, used it for about 200 miles while I was waiting for my SRAM red to arrive

I've got a set of the Rotor NoQ rings on the road bike and they're spot on. Don't seem to wear too quickly and they shift well enough. I think mine were about £100 for the pair from Sigma Sport.
