Cycle Insurance

We really need to get some cycle insurance at home.

Things have kind of crept up on us, we'll shortly have over £4k worth of Bromptons, plus my road bike & moutain bikes belonging to the wife & daughter, probably totally £4k too.

Can anybody recommend a decent insurer offering bespoke cycle insurance

Check your home contents policy. M&S covers unspecified bikes up to £2500 each and as long as you don't leave them unlocked they're covered away from home too. I think John Lewis also use the same underwriters as there price was almost the same.

LV insurance bikes to unlimited value and they do not need to be specific as they do not class a bike as a "valuable" item.
This only applies at home, but they do include sheds, garages and outbuildings.

I've not found another company with such a good policy on bikes. M&S were the best, but no longer.

Agreed about M&S. They had my business for years on the back of their bike cover, but as you say, no longer.

I'm with Bikmo. I haven't had experience of making a claim but all dealings I've had with them to date have been positive.

Cheers for that. I'm just waiting for them to send me over a couple of quotes, but it certainly sounds like they're going to be cheaper than my current provider for much better cover, and definitely better and more flexible than talking to a call centre!
