Prescription Cycling Sunglasses

I was a long time contact lens wearer but after a nasty eye infection caused by them I have switched back to glasses.

Problem I am having is on the bike. Firstly I often need sunnies, also there is a gap so when I look over my shoulder I can't see.

The only options I have found generally are Bolle or Oakley, both of which cost a fortune with prescription.

This place has some cheaper options. Anyone tried them?

I got some BBB cycling sunglasses reglazed to my prescription in a Transitions lens by cilaryblue. At the time they did the most wraparound lenses I could find - email a pic of intended frame and they'll advise.

Not expensive. But most the time I just use my std Transitions specs tbh.

Don't go for inserts. Awful things. Had Adidas Climacool insert jobbies previously, not a patch on a proper full prescrition lens.

I did hear that Specsavers have a range of sports sunnies too that can be chosen as a free 2nd pair, so worth checking them out too.

I wear Adidas Evil Eye half rims with RX inserts. A little flimsier than I'd like but you get a total wrap which I wanted.

Take a look at the prescription glasses from Optilabs.
I've got a pair with transitions lenses and they're great. Cost about a third of the price of my Oakleys.

Thanks all Optilabs look good. £99 for the basics.

I only had a right cheap st pair of normal glasses I bought in Aldi before so don't need anything special.

Kind of agree with the inserts bit - they are a bit of a compromise, the biggest problem I found is they steam up quickly when you stop. You're right about Specsavers. I got two pairs of these for £99 including single vision glazed inserts

I've got inserts in my Bolle Tracker II glasses, I haven't had any problems with mine. The glasses are safety glasses, so I got them through work for nothing, but the outer frames complete with lenses are about a tenner, so cheap to replace when scratched.
