Mobile Mount Recommendation

My trusty, 15 year old, Garmin Forerunner 301 is finally looking like it will give up. Cant get the thing to charge anymore.

I don't really want to shell out hundreds on a new one so was thinking of using Strava and my mobile. Anyone got any recommendations for good mounts for a mobile? I am not that attached to my phone but would rather not have it fly off down the road.

Phone is a Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, needs to go on a Planet X stealth and a Trek 1.1 if that makes a difference.

It's not just the brass contacts need cleaning is it? (Have an ancient 301 for water based activities, regularly need to clean them with a bit of emery)

Presumably you didn't use the 301 for nav, so run Strava on phone in pocket?

That's what I do anyway. When I do need nav it's the very reasonably priced Dakota with free Talkytoaster countour maps that goes on the bars.

Possibly. I basically have to bend the usb cable as tightly as I can and then wedge it somewhere for a few hours to charge. If it moves slightly it stops charging.

ETA - no didn't use the nav on the 301 as it was pants so pocket will work perfectly.

Another vote for Quadlocks here, and I use mine with a Sony Xperia Z2.

Whilst they do have specific cases for iphones, they also do a stick on universal mounting plate, so I just got a rugged case for the phone and stuck the plate onto that. I usually swap it out of the usual case (as I couldn't find a rugged one which didn't get in the way of the magnetic charging point), but the mount hardly sticks out at all, so you won't notice it in a pocket if you do decide to keep it like that, or stick it directly onto the back of your phone if you're not using a case.

They have on the stem mounts like the basic Garmin one, and also a reversible out front / over the stem mount. Both work very well, and feel very well made.
