Seat post clamp plates - correct term?

What is the correct term for the clamping plates at the top of a modern seatpost? This sort of thing:

A friend has lost the plates of hers... fell off while on the back of her car. She has a new seat (original lost with the plates) and I had hoped to be able to buy new plates instead of a whole new seat post. It might be that a new seat post is cheaper but I wondered if I was searching for the right thing.

They are all different depending on the make of seat post, so replacements will probably be hard to find. Upgrade time...

Really not worth it - it's not a "special" bike. Decent enough but it'd be just as happy if I cut off the end and used an old fashioned clamp.

However, looks like you can buy new seatposts for a fiver with the new style clamping mech. So, you are right. Upgrade time.
