4 of us are looking at a 3 day mtb holiday in the summer in the alps. we would like a guided enduro / xc / all mountain type ride - big days out in the saddle of 50km with uplift. can anyone recommend a companyor individual that offers this? anywhere is the alps. there are lots of options when doing a google search but recommendations are always a plus. we are all fit, fast riders if that helps any

Have you considered doing the Passportes du Soleil ? 90ish km day with about 1000m of climbing. It's held daily 24-26 June & there are still spaces available (i've signed up this morning). Can't help with any guide recommendations though.

done it for the last 4 years, wanting to do something similar but different, but you've hit the nail on the head of exactly the sort of thing we're after

Going back for number 3 this year, Mk1Fan is a regular over there & has used a guide for some 'off piste' MTB stuff around there. Worth dropping him a note if he doesn't see this.

Friends use Trail Addiction - they love it.

I nearly booked with White Room a few years ago, they had good reports at the time.

I asked the question to some club members who ride in the Alps all the time suggestions that came back:

Switchbacks
Rivierabike (Italy)
Bike Verbier (Switzerland)
Trail Addiction
MTB Adventures (Ben Jones)

I highly recommend Stevo and Iona at The White Room! Have just booked again with them for this summer (4th year!). They do "Back Country" weeks early (and late) season before all the lifts open (more pedalling/climbing), and then "Classic weeks" (more D/H / uplift oriented) in the middle.

Take a look at their site, then give Stevo a shout (tell him i sent you!)

PS: just to get you in the mood:

If you can stretch out a few more days, you can't get any better than Trans Provence guided weeks http://www.trans-provence.com/

Or get in touch with Ben if you want to be more northern alps based. Worked for both these companies last year and know both owners well if you need any info.

Also on that pic above, I can see my old house from there!
