Rear mech replacement
Discussion
I managed to twât my rear derailleur on a tree stump on yesterdays ride, its now looking slightly the worse for wear
. Any suggestion for what to replace it with, without spending a fortune? Bike is a Specialised Crosstrail Its got shimano acera 9 spd currently. Happy to spend £50 or so and fit myself.

Given you've got 9sp and won't need a clutch on a Hybrid with a front derailleur (I'm assuming) I'd get one of these

It's half your budget and clutch aside only a couple of grams worse than the higher end stuff (which is all 10 or 11 speed now).

Ah, thanks, had been looking at Deore and thinking it was road stuff. I take it the fittings are identical, unbolt, stick new one on, re index, bobs your mothers etc?
Yep, one universal bolt for fitting - H/L screw and the 'B' screw and anyway you go. The "Shadow" part in the name means it's tucked away from harm (as much as is practical) so you might miss that stump next time
