Budget Hybrid shortlist - opinions sought

My old MTB clunker is on it's last legs and I think I'd like a hybrid bike for weekends and the odd summer's evening tootle, mainly on tarmac, country roads and the occasional towpath. Something lighter, a bit quicker, etc.
I haven't got a lot to spend and I want to keep it under £300. I don't want or need fat tyres or sprung forks.

I rather like the look of these:

Giant Escape 3 2016 - Tredz at £299

Decathlon Triban 500 Flat bar hybrid at £260

Halfords have the Kona Dew in certain sizes at £279

Are they all much of a muchness at that price point? Anything else I might want to shortlist, Wiggle/Avanti, etc.?

The Triban is essentially a road bike with flat bars, it has 23c width tyres , which are too narrow for any off road use /towpaths etc. Yes you can change the tyres easily, but the fact they fitted such narrow tyres and the geo means its not really suited to anything other than road and in that case I'd just buy the road bike version.

The Giant is looks more sturdy and has 32c tyres, indicating its designed to cope with a tougher life and conditions such as mild off road

Out of those two I'd choose the Giant
