I've got a meeting in Whistler in mid June. Is there the possibility of hiring a bike for a day and blowing off some cobwebs?

Not ridden 'properly' for a little while, and when I was it was much more XC than DH. Not sure what the mix of trails is like tho.

Any pointers?

Well it deserves all the hype it gets, depends what you're after - there's 100s of KMs of XC trails in the area, but they're not lift fed. The Bike Park has all the famous ones you see in the Vids and if anything they're bigger in real life than they look on TV, but there's loads of much easier trails - B-Line, Crank it Up, Blue Velvet are all great fun, very fast, but very wide and smooth so there's loads of room to correct if you get it wrong. I'd certainly get some practice before you go so you can make the most of it. All try park trails are clearly marked and graded and any trial that can't be rolled has a qualifier at the start. Just don't jump straight off the lift and onto D1 and you'll be fine wink

Oh and yes, hire bikes (and lids and armor) on every other corner in the village.
