Question about bike sizing

Good afternoon all,

I am looking to buy my wife a bike as a present/surprise and she likes the look of the Cannondale Quick 5 hybrid bike. She is 5'10 and the medium frame is suitable for riders up to 5'10. The large frame is suitable for riders 5'10 and over.

I have found a bike on offer at Pauls Cycles but it's in Norfolk and I'm in Manchester so we can't really go over and try it out, plus it would spoil the surprise.

Which size frame should I buy for her?

Generally easier to make a smaller bike bigger, than a bigger bike smaller.

Without looking at the geo, I would go with a medium.
