This:

Or

http://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/bikes/adventure/mult...

Buying through the cycle to work scheme, not ridden properly for 10 years, but I used to compete in XC stuff. Don't have time for that now, so will mostly be roads, parks and some v light off roading.

I always wanted a Cannondale when I was younger, however my local bike shop is steering me towards a Genesis.

I've had a ride of the Genesis and it's nice, however nowhere has the Cannondale in stock for me to have a ride.

Looking for opinions on both!
Cheers

Between just those two, without adding further suggestions? The Genesis. All day, every day. Not based on spec or owt like that, just looks really. The aesthetics of the CdF are spot on IMHO.

I have a Genesis CDA10, it was a cheap older model that I picked up for some winter road riding and some general pottering. Been very reliable and used a decent amount. Done about 2500miles with only a basic service, cant fault it really.

I should add, this was my first ever 'road style' bike with dropped bars etc, so have little to compare it to.

Went for the Genesis, cycled it home from the city centre and was effortless compared to my heavy XC bike I had years ago smile

Good choice!

I bought a Croix de Fer 20 at the start of May, got Rutland Cycles to price match Tweeks as they had a bank holiday deal on, so got it from my LBS (well, closest bike shop I trust) for £1019. I've done 432 miles on it so far, and I've loved every minute!

It's not the lightest bike in the world- it's nearly 5kg more than my carbon bike, but it's my go to bike every time! I'm taking the long way home from work and deliberately riding roads that I used to dodge because of bad road surfaces!
