I want a cyclocross bike

I currently have a full suspension mountain bike for the serious stuff and a fat bike for messing around on so a cyclocross bike is a perfect stablemate

I don't want to spend too much but also would like a half decent set up and have spotted the Calibre Dark Peak from Go Outdoors and it looks not bad for the money. Shimano Tiagra, WTB rims/tyres and a few other "names" plus a carbon fork. With a 15% discount code that I have it is £595. Any opinions on the bike and its equipment rather than Go Outdoors as I know they have had a few teething problems with their new bike departments.

Looked at these, and for the money they look like a reasonable bit of kit. Mud clearance isn't brilliant with the 40 section tyres, but that's not really surprising for a summer bridleway thrasher it's definitely worth a punt.

Yep, very sensible choice, particularly at that price point.

I've done many thousand KM on that FSA crankset and it's still going strong, little sign of wear on the chainrings either.
