I bought Mrs Miniman a cheap BTwin Triban 500 road bike a year ago, and yesterday she did 100 miles in just shy of 7 hours on it (see other thread on last minute repairs!). Our daughter is nearly big enough to ride the BTwin now so I am looking at an upgrade for Mrs Miniman.

Given the issues with the shifters, I'm inclined to look higher up the groupset range - perhaps 105.

Possibilities:

https://www.evanscycles.com/pinnacle-dolomite-5-wo...

Other stuff (Specialized, Felt, Cube, Trek) at that point seems to be down the bottom end of the Shimano range (Sora).

Any thoughts or recommendations gratefully received. I quite like the look of the Pinnacle.

Yeah I looked at Cube, they also seem to have low-end components for the money. The Canyon looks exceptional value.

Have a look at Ribble or Planet X if you can get past the names.

I have a Planet X with scram red off eBay for 350 quid. I ride it now in pref to a dale super6 and a spesh Tarmac as it fits me the best. Brilliant bike and can be had for buttons.

Missus has a trek silque and it is great fit wise for a girlie but not cheap.
