Route near Weymouth please

Hi all
Heading down to Weymouth tomorrow for the day, and am going to chuck my bike in the car for a ride in the evening.
Is anybody able to help with a 30/40 mile route please?
You were all very helpful to critique my route when I rode there last year, but unfortunately I can't ride down this year

Can't help with specifics, as I've not cycled down that way, but Cerne Abbas out via Coombe Valley Road, Dorchester and Piddletrenthide is about the 20 to 25 mile mark, depending on where exactly in Weymouth you measure it from.
Or head out west along the coast for as long as you like, then turn around and ride back when your time (or legs) tell you to? Lyme Regis is about 30 miles away, so perhaps too far for a mid way chippie stop? Or East, into the Purbeck Hills to Corfe Castle and back, with an option to divert via Lulworth Cove? That's getting on for a 50 miler, and a hilly bugger at that, but you don't have to make the turn around a particular landmark like Corfe Castle really. But if you did you'd hit two of the most picturesque places in the south of England in one ride.
A few minutes (hours?) spent on Google Streetview will give you a fair idea what to expect of the roads you choose and allow you to tweek a route. If you've got a Garmin or some such you could then use the Strava route creator feature to set up a nice loop to guide you round. Personally I'd work up two loops, one East, one West, then decide which way to go on the day based on whichever would give you a cheeky tail wind home

Have a look for the Dorset Smuggler Sportive or Springtive Sportive, both appear to start in Weymouth although they dont appear to have run in 2016. I had a look for maps but the organsiers websites cant get past my firewall! I'm sure you will find them on strava so you can just pinch the gpx.
If typical sportives are anything to go by they will use the quieter roads. The A-roads in that area are awful for cycling as they are used by HGVs and a lot of it is single carriageway.
