Is a Planet X Exocet frame suitable for the track?

Just got bitten by the track bug and thinking about building my own track bike to go with the two roadies and the MTB. I've been offered a Planet X Exocet frame for a good price but will it be suitable for the track? I'm hoping that the collective experience of PH will hold the answer!

In a couple of words I'd say no, not really

Quite different geometry between a track and TT frame, the main one is the bottom bracket height, track bikes are designed with riding around on banked tracks and have the appropriate clearance to enable that.

Other issue is running the Exocet fixed, ideally you want horizontal rear drop outs to tension the chain but it can be done with normal vertical drop outs.

Cheers Matt, that's a pity as it's a good looking frame but you're right and I'll get something designed for the job!

OP, you have pm. I'm thinking of selling my Planet X carbon pro track bike, medium. Tried track racing this season. It's not for me. Let me know if you are interested.
