Campagnolo Zonda Wheel Bearings
Discussion
I am off on holiday next weekend and planning to take my bike to Cyprus, unfortunately my Campagnolo Zonda wheels bearings are starting to feel a bit tired.
Does anyone know if they can be re-greased or if they have to be replaced?
My LBS told be they are sealed bearings, ergo they cannot be re-greased. They have quoted between £100-£130 to replace the bearings in both wheels and the freehub.
They are unsure if they have the correct wheel bearings in stock and said they won't know until they disassemble the wheels. They have said they are quite busy and won't get round to looking at them until Wednesday. If they take the wheels apart and don't have the right bearings the chances of them being ready before I go on holiday are slim....
Does anyone know which wheel bearings and free hub bearings I need? If I can find out early which parts are needed at least the LBS can get on on and order the correct parts.

Zondas are cup and cone, of course you can regrease them. The freehub bearings are cartridge type though and should be available from any reputable bearing shop.Does anyone know if they can be re-greased or if they have to be replaced?

You need standard 5/32 bearings which you can get in all sorts of different flavours, stainless steel, ceramic etc I cant believe that an LBS with a workshop wont have them in stock but there are loads of online suppliers
random bearing supplier
It looks like there are 15 in each race. The cartridge bearing in the freehub is replaceable rather than repairable, not sure of the code but the Zonda tech docs are on the campag website.

Oh, and you need a new LBS... thieving b
ds! (though I assume most of their quote is labour) What annoys me is the stock "we wont know until we have them in our grubby hands and your cash is ours" attitude, f
k that. It takes 30 seconds for them to go online and google "campag zonda bearing size".... LBSs can rot in hell, wiggle and CRC all the way....
