Took up riding again last year after a 10 year absence. Before that I did decent distances and had reasonable pace.
On my return, had to sort out rim tape and puncture resistant tyres (Schwalbe) and also velo plugs.
All in the name of reducing punctures.
So far its been pretty effective in so much that I only ever get pinch punctures now.
Had 3 in the last week and wondered if there is anything else I can do.
Bike should be in a museum - Releigh Record Sprint using 23 x 700c tyres.

Thanks

Have enough air (100psi or thereabouts), ride around the potholes, learn to bunnyhop? Not really much else I can think of.

Yep that's about it I run 110psi front & rear and avoid all the potholes and drains that I can. Pinch punctures tend to happen at lower tyre pressures.

IMHO there are three things to avoiding pinch flats:

1. Pressure
2. Pressure
3. Pressure

I ride with 100psi up front and 110 psi rear which I check and top-up before every ride and I've not had a pinch flat in 2,500 miles.

I usually ride in Buckinghamshire where the roads are truly terrible (seriously, riding in Essex and Suffolk over the weekend was a revelation) so it's not as if I'm not having to cope with potholes. They're just a fact of life and I'd expect to hit a few clangers on every ride.

In my thirty odd years of bike riding I've had one pinch puncture - while I was intentionally running low tyre pressures.
