New 2017 Whyte 901
Discussion
Well, as far as I'm aware, it's almost the same frame(but with boost spacing, and better looking) as the 2k16, but 11sp 1x from the factory, meaning you don't have to spend £30 or so on a single ring after you get it, and possibly have a slightly better chainline.
If you can get the 2k16 significantly cheaper, then go for that. Otherwise, the extra range of the 11sp may be worth it if there's not much in it.
Either way, you won't regret it. A mate of mine bought a 901 and it blew me away. It's more fun to thrash about the trails than my three-times-the-price full suss bike. The geo is so dialled, and the kit is so well chosen, and the ride is surprisingly forgiving.
Brilliant bikes. I want one.

I think they've actually made quite a few changes to the framesets - they are now all 1x specific, and thus have different chainstay length, some other geometry changes etc along with the Boost hubs.
They look really good - It depends on how much extra its going to cost you really but if the difference is manageable I'd be tempted to save for the 2017.

You're right about them being 1x, however, the geo is identical:2016: http://www.whyte.bike/901-16

Let's not forget that the advantages of going boost on a 650b are being constantly debated.
