Cavendish 'Rise Above', 28th August. Anyone else doing it?
Discussion
I was down to do the same route last year but had to bail due to an 11mm kidney stone.
HSP will be fine, the only steep bit is the hairpin, the rest is pretty constant gradient.
The climb over Cymau will be worse, it's a local route for me.
My cycling buddies who took part last year commented that the feed stations were poor and overall there was too much focus on the celebrity and less on the ride experience.
The queues at sign-on, on the Saturday were ridiculous, 90 mins waiting.
Hopefully they will make improvements on all these fronts.
If you enjoy it, signup for the Evans Ride It from Mold, it takes in the Bwlch Penbarras, that's a proper hill :-)

They're marketing it as "Britain's Toughest Sportive". Looking at the route, it looks pretty hilly, but not as tough as the Fred?
I'm kind'a new to this having only done one event so far so I've little frame of reference.I'll see how it goes and maybe pitch for the longer one next year...
...Maybe.
