Myself and a couple of cycling friends are looking at heading down there for the day in a couple of weeks. It seems like it'll be a good way to spend a Monday by riding a road course without any cars. Has anyone got any experience of it? Would it get a tad boring as the circuit is only a mile long? My sister has expressed an interest too but has never ridden a road bike, what are the hire bikes like?

I've been a couple of times. IIRC, the hire bikes are Condor Italia with Campaganolo (Xenon?) groupset. I thought it was a nice touch to have a London brand rather than a global one.I enjoyed the course - it made a nice change from road riding. It is quite short and I had had enough by the time I'd done about 20 laps. Mind you, I was going as fast as I could so I was ready to stop for more than one reason.
I'd say it's worth it - see if you can organise a go on the indoor track as well.
Was there last night. Hire bikes are condor, not ridden one but seem okay.
Will you get bored, depends. If you are competitive and start riding with groups that form or chasing them it is good. Otherwise you'll probably get bored after a while. Tarmac is nice and smooth, can get some reasonable head winds down there.
