Cycling Sunnies for £100

Bit of an odd request, I have had a gift voucher for a local opticians for £100 for a couple of years and its due to expire. I already have loads of sunglasses that I like and 2 x normal glasses, so never needed to spend it, but as it is due to expire I suppose I better!

The optician does not have a great range of sunglasses in but have advised they can get other pairs/makes in, but only at "list" price and not price match

So.. Can anyone recommend any good cycling glasses from known brands that retail around £100

They have some nice enough Oakleys in there for £150 , but I am loathed to spend an extra £50 as I already have lots of sun glasses.

Have you thought about selling the voucher?

i.e. do you know anyone local to the store that needs glasses and swapping the voucher for cash with them?

Or even buying something to sell on.

Genuine pairs available on Amazon for a lot less.

They have some Oakleys for £100-150 I might buy, they look quite "cheap" for the price, are the lenses worth it or is it brand tax?

Partly brand tax, but the lenses are very good and the aftersales care is excellent.

Seems like most small town retailers, more expensive compared to online retailers but thats the way it is. If it were me, I think I would stump up the £50 and pay for some Oakleys ... at least see if you can get 10% off to soften the blow.

Presumably non prescription sunglasses? I would say they are worth the extra, although my exprince is with Oakley prescription sunglasses, which are well worth it, as they avoid the issues other wrap around glasses have with prescription lenses (strange distortions and issues to the sides).

Though so, but I had to check as I got quite a shock the other day when buying new prescription Oakleys. The will last me a good few years, but they were not cheap, after I expected them to be next to nothing with the offer the opticians had on.

I thought the Oakley PRIZM lenses would be a bit of gimmick, but they are really good.

To the OP. If you do get PRZM. Make sure you get the one for cycling and not deep water fishing or Golf.

Bought the only cycling orientated ones the shop had in stock : Oakley Flak 2.0 XL Prizm Road

Cost me £40 plus voucher

Really like them , they are polarised so work really well driving , I kind of wish I went for a darker lense, but I can change it next summer if it still bothers me

Annoyingly the rear arms catch on my helmet, I thought they might, my other similiar design sunglasses do the same, my cheapo Aldi ones dont though !

But I need to bin the helmet soon anyway, as its worse than grim

I've got the Prizm trail lenses, but I did wonder how the Prizm road lenses, marketed for road cycling, would work for driving.
