Crowd funded private prosecution of driver who hit a cyclist

This is an interesting one. The police didn't think there was a case so the family has now crowd funded a private prosecution.

Presumably there's more to it than meets the eye but on the face of it the driver drove into the cyclist from behind and the cyclist subsequently died of the injuries.
