Today while out on my bike I noticed my front suspension was virtually fully compressed. It locked out fine so turned around and went home about 1 mile. I have pumped up the front shock and set the sag with about 90 psi so now im just waiting to see if the air escapes again or its fixed.

1 question I have. I looked at the fork manual and it does not come with a weight chart but it did say max 180psi. I went to about 110 psi and measured the length of the fork and it was 135mm. My forks should only be 120mm. I have let some air out so they are now at 120mm. Does the fact they over extended mean it could be another problem?

Which part did you measure? the stanchion will always be greater in length than the quoted travel to prevent damage. Letting air out to reduce the travel doesnt sound right though, your compression and damping settings should take care of that shouldnt it?

It was the stantion where i measured the 135mm. As far as I could tell I didn't have a compression setting. Top left of fork is valve for the shock pump, top right is the lock off, bottom right is the dampening and bottom left is just an allen screw bolt.

On a plus note the air seems to have stayed in the forks over night but there is oil up the stantion. I hope that is because it was fully compressed though.

The travel of the forks shouldn't be changing with the change in air pressure.

Does the fork compress normally now? And how are your seals looking? Getting gunkier?

The forks now seem to be compressing and returning as expected. Would you expect the air in the forks to have escaped after 7 months? The rings dont seem to be gunking just noticed oil up the stantion.

I wont go out on the bike today ill leave it until Wednesday to be sure the air iS staying in place.
