Giro 2017 - stage start/finish times?
Discussion
I've been looking for more details on the stage start and finish times, but can't find anything specific.
I'm thinking of watching stage 9 which finishes on the Blockhaus on Sunday 14th May. I'm trying to figure out if I'll have time to get down the mountain and back to Rome to fly home; I think it will have to finish at 4 pm to have any chance.
I'm also trying to plan the day, will there be road closures on the roads leading to the finish, that kind of thing. If anyone knows how to find out, please share.

Usually there aren't road closures after a stage (unless they are providing an escape route for race vehicles only), so it depends a lot on how far up the climb you're planning to go, and how many people have the same idea. Personally I doubt that trying to fly home the same evening is going to work well, it's not unknown to have multi-hour delays just caused by the number of people trying to move at the same time. Why not try stay longer and see the next day's start (or catch the riders on their rest day if that comes next), both of these are worth doing and provide a different view of the race.
Giro tends to start / finish the stages later than the other tours - according to this site the 2016 stages were times to finish between 5 and 5.30 depending on pace.........

There are no times for the equivalent 2017 stages (there is a page - change the 6 in that url to a 7) but I see no reason it'll be different - they aren't going to be done by 4 anyway.
