No sportives?

Been on the usual websites but having trouble finding any organised sportives for this time of year...anyone else having the same issue?

None really this time of year. there are some smaller local ones maybe late Jan/Feb, a local shop near me does a "winter series of mini sportives"

Weather and daylight are main factors stopping them, plus this time of year is always off season

Or You could try Audaxing, but read up first otherwise you will be in for a big shock!

You could see if any local clubs are running Reliability Rides. Like a sportive in that you'll all set off at about the same time and have a set route to follow, but instead of costing £50 they're typically a fiver for charity and instead of feed stations and someone in a high viz telling you to stop at every give-way junction you bring your own jelly babies and look left and right. Don't expect a finisher's medal but if you're lucky there'll be somewhere you can get a cup of tea.
