Secondly, main criteria are aero and di2 - sadly the Canyon Aeroad is not a good geometry for me so current top of the list is the Giant Propel (Advanced SL1). What else should I be considering?

If I was buying an off the shelf I'd consider that new Trek Madone. It looks great.

Or I quite like what can be achieved with a litespeed frame and some other parts bolted on

Not much more than the Propel if I can help it (£4k-ish). The Madone looks awesome but it's +£2k over the Propel for the Ultegra di2 model which is a lot!

Are Litespeed still around? Haven't seen one for years - will take a look.

No limits and I'd be on a Trek Madone 9.9 with Dura-Ace Di2, but you'd need to factor in the £9,000 ( ) asking price first...

If I were in the market to replace it I'd just get the current version.

I got a Propel. That Madone looks like a nightmare to work on and I was sick of doing that with my BMC TMR01.

You can pick up the previous generation Cervelo S5 with di2 for 3.5k from NRG cycles according to Google...

IMO the Madone is the best looking aero bike but its a LOT of money. I'd really like one but I can't help thinking that the Emonda SLR will be a better race bike for me. And I can cannot justify both

Because I want the best and lightest frame with the 700 series carbon ... so it has to be the SLR.
