Child friendly trails nr Worcester

As the title suggests really. I have a 9 yr old who isn't very confident on his bike and would like to rectify this.

I have googled to try and find the answer but cannot find anything definitive. Ideally I suppose I am looking for fairly flat and wide tracks, away from traffic that he can continue to improve on.

We have been to the Wyre forest but parts of that are too steep both for going up and down. I wondered if there were any disused railway tracks that I haven't found on google or is the Forest of Dean the best bet ( about an hour away)

There is a dis used railway track at the Wyre forest which would be ideal. Or there's cycle paths at the side of the river at Worcester city centre. Have a look at the website below for more ideas

If it is purely to gain confidence then the racecourse near the centre of Worcester has a path all the way round it and is part of a cycle route so okay to ride on. A lap is only about 2.5km though and it would get a bit boring riding around it repeatedly. My 5 year old will happily do a lap on his bike. Parts of the Worcester/Birmingham canal are also cycle routes, not sure I'd trust my 5 year old on them yet but older child should be okay.

The Forest of Dean is excellent but as you say not exactly convenient. The family trail there should be doable for a 9 year old, just make sure you ride it the right way round as the gradient is gradual on the out leg and then eventually culminates in a nice swooping downhill bit to Cannop Ponds.

Can't think of anywhere else but will also be looking for options as my two get older and more confident.

Well I was going to suggest the bike centre at Forest of Dean, just because I know it will be suitable, is a great day out and not that far from Worcester.
