Cube vs Giant Which would you choose

I'm looking at either a Cube Attain GTC SL bisc or the Giant Defy Advanced pro 3.
Both are 2016 bikes and on sale from CRC and Pedalon.I can't test either as there are no stockists in my neck of the woods for either brand.
Which would you choose and why because I am really struggling to pick.

Giant have their own shops around the South, Bloody expensive but lovely shops.

The snob in me would buy the giant, because I prefer the way it looks and I think it's generally a cooler bike.
My head says the Cube though, on the basis of the fact that it has ultegra.
Lots of people are of the opinion that 105 is almost as good as ultegra. However I have 3 bikes, one with Sora, one with 105 and 1 with ultegra. Ultegra for me offers far superior shifting to the 105 bike and feels like an absolute dream in comparison. The shifting on the 105 bike feels much closer to the Sora bike to me. Just an opinion.
Because of this I'd pick the Cube, if I could only have one. But if I had a bit of leeway on the budget I'd stretch to 1750 and get a boardman SLR endurance 9.0 disc. The equivalent Canyon is over 2 grand in comparison

I can't help on the choice between the 2 bikes as I'm not a big Roadie but from my experience, if you need to make a warranty claim, Giant are first class.
Last year I found a crack in my 2012 Giant XTC frame, returned the frame to Giant and the warranty replacement was confirmed the next day - I was informed that there would be a 12 week wait due to them not manufacturing Alloy XTC frames anymore (they re-manufacture them), this timed passed, no replacement arrived so after a call to their customer services department I was offered a complete 2017 XTC Advance bike as the replacement due to the time taken. It did take 19 weeks in total to get the replacement bike but it was a good result and I had another bike to use in the meantime.

Ultegra won't make you any faster, even though you will convince your self that it will.
I bought a bike based on spec, but its not a looker. Wish I'd paid extra and bought the Giant Propel, which is a lovely looking bike.

I think that's changing now as I understand that Wanty-Groupe Gobert (catchy name huh?) have been given a wild card entry to the TDF this year and also the Criterium de Dauphine - they will be riding the Cube Litening C68 - that's not how I spell Lightning but there you are. This indeed sound advice, i Brought a Boardman Team Carbon & run it into the ground & when all the bits started to wilt i replaced it all with a decent second hand full Ultegra kit & it's a pure delight to ride .Ultegra won't make you any faster, even though you will convince your self that it will.

OP - I think you should really buy the bike you find the most attractive tbh, after a year or so you will have to start replacing bits & pieces
