New front mech required.- which one (mtb)
Discussion
Ive got a 2000 evo2 Orange, the front mech seized at the weekend. I've tried cleaning it, WD40 etc but nope, its locked solid.
So I need to get a new one, would like Shimano XT, but what one do I need? It has three sprockets, does the size of the rear cassette have any bearing on the front mech?

Make sure you get the right band adaptor, Shimano front mechs use a plastic insert inside the clamp to shim it down to the right size, an Evo2 has quite a thin seat tube by modern standards and often cheap parts from the big online places don't have all the bits included, they're only a couple of quid separately but it's a PITA.

31.8mm clamp according to the Orange site so you probably need something like this SLX one, which is 34.9mm but comes with inserts mentioned above.

Scratch that - it's a direct mount so no use AFAIK. Sorry.

Still very much available...ive a few spare

Despite having 1x11 and 2x10 & 3x9 bikes I still prefer the 3x10 setup most. I Really dont get the new fad of 1x11/12 with stupidly large rear cassettes.
