Anyone using Compass tyres?

Looking at Compass Chinook tyres in 28mm for my commuter (25 miles ea way), they get fantastic reviews but at £48 each they are seriously expensive, they make my Vittoria Corsa's look like a bargain!

Do they always point North or something? I'd expect them to float me home at that price!

Blimey too pricey for me for a commuter , they don't really look nor state they are tough , which would be my first concern for a commutter tyre . They look and the spec says to me a occasional tyre for a best bike.. I could be wrong though!

Yes.
I've been running some Barlow Pass for a while and I've been really impressed with them, no way I'd run them on a commuter though at the price they are!
I also tried a set of Compass Bon Jon tyres which are supposed to be tubeless compatible but were anything but. They got sent back for a refund without me even riding them as they leaked sealant non-stop.

I found them via Google but decided the price was too much

Currently running 32mm Conti 4 seasons on the commuter from Bike24.de at a significant cost saving
They are good on tarmac, pave, canal towpaths and adequate off road until things get a bit silly

That's a mad amount to pay for a commuter tyre when something like a Vittoria Zaffiro is available in 700c28 for around a tenner.

I've had good luck with the Zaffiros over many thousand KMs, I buy them when I see them on sale and keep them in reserve ready when required.

Although I'm calling it a commuter in reality it's 25 miles of country lanes so will be doubling up as training rides, I'm happy to pay for a decent tyre but as has been mentioned, 28mm 4-Seasons or GP4000s may be more cost effective.

Panaracer make tyres for Compass - Gravel Kings are essentially the same but around half the price. I have some 32s on my commuting bike which are comfortable and reasonably fast

I'm looking at Clement Strada LGG in 28 or 32c size, half the price of the Compass options!

Running Challenge Paris - Roubaix tyres in 27mm at the moment, they roll well enough but lacking grip in damp conditions.
